FAMIGLIA AI Policy

We believe in supporting Catholic creators. AI takes work away from these talented humans who are trying to support their families and use their God-given gifts. For us, this policy is an easy decision.

We are written by humans.

Lately, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between content written by humans and content generated by AI… we want to assure you that all stories we produce are written by human hands.

We believe FAMIGLIA should be written by humans, to be read by humans. For this reason, our writers are prohibited from using Language Learning Models (like ChatGPT, Claude, etc) and other tools to produce AI-generated writing.

All of our content is written by a human.

Of course, AI has good uses – such as helping editors do an initial review of grammar or assisting a writer in brainstorming ideas – but we draw the line at the content we produce and write.

In line with this philosophy, we generally avoid publishing images or graphics created by AI. There is always the exception, such as in a story about the ethics of AI which might include AI-generated images to help illustrate points, but this is rarely done and, if we do so, will be expressly labeled as such.

So rest assured, when you are reading FAMIGLIA, you are reading a human.

Our writers know how to write…

Yes – we use the em dash.

Sometimes, people mistakenly associate certain wording or punctuation (such as an em dash…–) with AI-generated content.

Our writers are top-notch and know how to use these things appropriately.

You can trust that every piece is crafted by a human hand.
