Today is the Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe, Priest and Martyr!
Pope Leo, in his Angelus Address Sunday, talked about the anniversary of the American bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WW2 – he said:
“The 80th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki has reinforced throughout the world the necessity to reject war as a means of resolving conflicts. May those in power always keep in mind their responsibility for the consequences of their decisions, and not ignore the needs of the weakest and the universal desire for peace.“
Did you know that St. Kolbe built a monastery which was spared from the bombing? Today’s read is an interesting one!
We pray for peace in today’s world. St. Kolbe, pray for us.
Let’s pray the Angelus!
🙏Let’s Pray the Angelus
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
